Nancy Burnham Equal Justice Project

Nancy Burnham dedicated her life to serving others with unwavering compassion and strength. Born in Schenectady, New York, she earned degrees from Syracuse University and Tufts University before embarking on a career defined by her fierce advocacy for at-risk and underserved children. For over three decades, she worked with the NYS Division for Youth and later at the St. Anne Institute in Albany, where her tireless commitment touched the lives of countless families. As a single mother, she balanced raising her son, Todd, with her career, instilling in him the values of hard work, determination, and compassion—qualities that continue to shape his professional life as an advocate for others.

Her legacy of service and resilience lives on through Burnham Law and The Nancy Burnham Equal Justice Project, which provides free representation in family law matters to low-income individuals in Colorado, many of whom face domestic violence and other challenges. Beyond her professional and personal sacrifices, Nancy found joy in music, travel, and her deep love for animals, particularly golden retrievers. Her life was a testament to selflessness, perseverance, and love, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and uplift those fighting for justice and equality.
