Sushantika (Su) began practicing family law right after her graduation from law school. Before joining Burnham Law, she was an associate attorney at another Colorado law firm where she handled different types of family law cases. She also worked as an Attorney-Advisor (Contractor) for US Small Business Administration, helping small businesses under Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

While in law school, Su worked as a student attorney in the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Human Rights at Home Clinic and as an intern at the Colorado Legal Services (Family and Children Unit). In addition, Sushantika completed a Judicial externship with the Honorable John S. Spinale, First Justice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Juvenile Court. Her extensive experience in multiple areas of family law have prepared her to advocate effectively for her clients and the best interests of the children.

Sushantika completed her undergraduate degree in English with a concentration in language and literature and graduated with honors (magna cum laude). She also made the University’s President’s List throughout her undergraduate years.  She earned her Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law. Her dedication and passion to serve others is also evidenced by the fact that she is a recipient of the UMass Law Public Interest Fellowship.  Sushantika also served as a Lead Editor and Associate Editor for UMass Law Review. She was recognized as a “Leader for Justice Award” by her law school for providing 200 hours of pro bono legal representation to low-income and underserved populations.

As a result of her personal background, academic achievements and practical experience, Sushantika is well prepared to contribute to her clients’ lives . Her passion for working with children and families reflects her dedication as a valued advocate. Her wide variety of experiences have reinforced her understanding of the need to advocate for justice, guarantee a fair trial, and uphold the Constitution. She is also fluent in Nepali and Hindi.
