Riley Scott is an associate attorney in the Domestic Relations division. She has represented clients in the Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Denver, El Paso, Fremont, Jefferson, Larimer, Pueblo, and Weld county district courts. Although a “trial attorney” at heart, Riley has learned that her clients are often best served by considering lower-conflict options within the realm of litigation and considering creative solutions that promote their autonomy and save on costs. Ultimately, Riley’s approach is straightforward: understand, advise, and fight for the best possible outcome that is tailored to her clients’ goals.
Riley started her legal career by representing parents in Dependency & Neglect cases filed by Boulder County. She expanded her practice to domestic relations, focusing on divorces and allocations of parental responsibilities (formerly known as “child custody” cases). Prior to law school, Riley served as a chemist in water treatment in Northern California. Riley brings her varied experience in technical writing and advanced research to every case she litigates.
Riley has a law degree (J.D.) and a certificate in Juvenile and Family Law with honors from the University of Colorado Law School, Boulder; a Master of Research (M.Res.) degree in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth, England; a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Ecology and Evolution from the University of California, Santa Barbara; and is a certified mediator through the Mediation Association of Colorado. In her spare time, Riley serves on the Board of The Schiller Foundation, which is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation that provides critical funds to disaster relief efforts, family rehabilitation centers, and food banks in Colorado, California, and Nevada.
