The Wyoming Highway Patrol has reported a double fatality crash that occurred on the morning of April 3, 2023.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol has reported a double fatality crash that occurred on the morning of April 3, 2023. The tragedy occurred around 3:00 a.m. east of Wamsutter, Wyoming on Interstate 80. Reports are that 41-year-old Edgar Echeverria of Houston, Texas was driving his semi-truck west on I-80 when he lost control of the truck and struck a tow truck that was parked in the median near mile marker 184. The tow truck driver, 45-year-old Kirby Lugg, was struck and later died from the injuries sustained. Mr. Echeverria was reportedly not wearing his seat belt and also died from the collision. The crash remains under investigation.
