[AURORA, COLORADO] Six people were left injured, two of them critically wounded, after a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit collapsed and landed into a pool area at the Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center in Colorado near Denver International Airport over the weekend, according to Aurora city officials.

The incident took place at approximately 9:50 a.m. MDT on Saturday May 6, 2023, and an investigation is still ongoing. The area was crowded with around 50 to 100 people at the time of the collapse, according to a report from a local television station. Burnham Law has independent knowledge that at the time of the collapse, the Gaylord was hosting a youth volleyball tournament. The exact cause of the collapse has yet to be made public.
