Pedestians Struck By Vehicles and Killed on NYE across Colorado – 12.31.22

The holiday weekend was filled with an unfortunate number of vehicle crashes. In Aurora, a pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing I-225. Aurora Police have reported that the tragedy happened New Year’s Eve and was the 50th traffic-related fatality of 2022 in Aurora, Colorado. The pedestrian was struck by a GMC SUV, and the driver has reportedly been cooperating with police. Aurora Police continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Another pedestrian died on New Year’s Eve when she was struck by two vehicles on I-25 near Thornton between 144 th Avenue and Highway 7. Initial reports are that the woman was in a ride-share vehicle when the driver ended the ride because she was getting ill. After the ride share left the woman, she was sideswiped by a pickup truck and then struck by a second vehicle.
