Multiple People Trapped in Overturned Vehicle on I-25 in Colorado Springs

[COLORADO SPRINGS, CO] – On June 12, 2023, the Colorado Springs Fire Department
(CSFD) responded to a crash with trapped individuals on Interstate 25, just north of West Bijou
Street. The incident, which occurred earlier today, has caused significant traffic delays in the
area.
CSFD issued a tweet at approximately 12:10 p.m. on Monday, June 12, alerting the public to the
ongoing situation. Emergency crews, accompanied by multiple units, arrived at the scene to
provide assistance. The crash, involving an overturned vehicle, resulted in the entrapment of
several individuals. As a result, two lanes of the highway were temporarily closed to ensure the
safety of those involved and facilitate the rescue operation.
