Colorado State Patrol is investigating a fatality where a person in a wheelchair was killed after
being hit by a deputy vehicle near the El Paso County Jail. The crash occurred just before 7:00
a.m. on December 14, 2022, near the 2700 block of East Las Vegas, near the jail and coroner’s
office. Little information is available, and this is an ongoing investigation.
