On the afternoon of April 12, 2023, Lincoln County, Wyoming was the scene of a tragic three-vehicle pileup that left one person dead and three others injured. According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at Border Junction, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 89 and U.S. Highway 30, when a Toyota RAV4 failed to stop at the stop sign on its southbound approach to U.S. Highway 30 and collided with a Peterbilt semi-truck heading west. The impact of the crash caused the Toyota to spin out of control, resulting in a person being fully ejected from the passenger side. Tragically, Steffany Bolivar Velasquez was pronounced dead at the scene while three additional passengers sustained injuries.
