I-70 Shut Down after Semi-Truck Crash in Glenwood, CO – 2.16.23

For the second time this week, the Colorado Department of Transportation has reported that a crash involving a semi-truck has partially closed down Interstate 70 in Glenwood Canyon near Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

The crash occurred on February 16, 2023, and shut down the eastbound lanes of I-70. This is the second time this week that I-70 in Glenwood Canyon has been shut down.

Accidents involving semi-trucks are some of the deadliest traffic crashes in Colorado. I-70 remains a constant throughway for commercial vehicles, tourism, and those enjoying the Rocky Mountains. The combination of semi-trucks and smaller vehicles can result in serious injuries, even at low speeds.
