AURORA, CO – In the early hours of July 10, 2023, tragedy struck near the intersection of Chambers Road and East 40th Ave when a car crash claimed the life of one individual and left another person hospitalized. Aurora police confirmed the incident, reporting that the accident occurred around 2 a.m.
Details regarding the severity of the injuries sustained by the second person remain unknown at this time. Authorities are actively investigating the incident to ascertain the cause of the crash and clearing the wreckage.
As part of the investigation process, investigators temporarily closed the westbound Interstate 70 off-ramp and the northbound lanes of Chambers Road for approximately five hours. This closure allowed officials to thoroughly examine the scene and gather evidence related to the accident.
Chambers Road leading to eastbound I-70 has since been reopened for public use, while southbound Chambers Road remained accessible to traffic throughout the investigation.
