the Colorado State Patrol (CSP), the accident occurred west of Durango, near mile marker 75, at
approximately 11:27 a.m.
The crash led to the temporary closure of the highway for over four hours, causing significant
traffic delays. Lisa Schwantes, spokeswoman for the Colorado Department of Transportation,
confirmed that the road was finally reopened around 4:15 p.m.
The motorcyclist tragically succumbed to their injuries at the scene, as reported by a CSP
spokesman in Denver. To respect the privacy of the individuals involved, Captain Trentini
refrained from disclosing their identities until the motorcyclist's next of kin could be properly
notified.
Officials have revealed that the collision involved a 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a
Jeep Cherokee. CSP Captain John Trentini shared that the driver of the Jeep Cherokee was
attempting a left turn from Durango Ridge Road to head east on Highway 160. However, the

highway.
The Colorado State Patrol will continue its investigation into the crash to determine the exact
