AURORA, CO – Tragedy struck the morning of May 14, 2023, as a fatal crash claimed the life of one individual near Interstate 70. According to a statement released by the Aurora Police Department (APD), the incident took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. on Chambers Road, close to the intersection of East 38th Avenue and I-70. The collision involved a Ford F-250 pickup truck and an Infinity I30 sedan.
Preliminary reports from the authorities indicate that the driver of the F-250 was traveling southbound on North Chambers Road, while the driver of the Infinity was attempting a left turn from the eastbound I-70 off-ramp onto North Chambers Road. Tragically, the F-250 crashed into the side of the Infinity, causing it to veer off the road and down an embankment, as described by APD officials.
At the scene of the crash, emergency responders determined that the driver of the Infinity, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, had succumbed to their injuries. The individual’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of their next of kin.
Meanwhile, the driver and a passenger in the Ford F-250 sustained injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating to determine whether intoxication played a role in the tragic incident.
