A serious motor vehicle collision occurred on April 10, 2023, west of Golden, Colorado on Highway 6. The crash temporarily shut down U.S. 6 between Golden and Highway 119. Photos of the cleanup showed at least one vehicle with serious damage. U.S. 6 connects Golden to the gambling towns of Black Hawk and Central City. Heading west out of Golden, U.S. 6 sits aside Clear Creek and can be a dangerous route if drivers do not give their full attention to the winding roadway.
