A divorce is uncontested if you and your spouse agree on every issue, including the division of assets and debts and the allocation of parental responsibilities. If you have disagreements, it’s contested. If it’s an uncontested divorce and there are no disagreements, that’s one of those rare situations where you probably don’t need an attorney representing you, but you would want to have an attorney review final documents to make sure that every last detail is addressed.
