Municipal Ordinance Violations

If you or a family member is required to appear in a City or Municipal Court for a traffic violation, land use violation, disorderly conduct, theft/shoplifting or a related charge, contact an attorney right away. Cases like these are typically resolved within 90 days, making it critical to begin preparing your defense.

Dismissal, Deferred Judgment and Diversion in Colorado

Burnham Law will assess the case against you and determine a strategy that will achieve the most beneficial outcome including seeking to have all charges dropped or reduced. A Deferred Judgment involves filing an initial guilty plea which, upon the successful completion of probation, is withdrawn and the case is dismissed and will not appear in future background checks. Diversion allows the defendant to avoid jail or pleading guilty providing certain conditions are met. If the defendant successfully completes the program requirements, the case is dismissed.
